Licence

Two licences. The Single Store Licence comes with everything unless your invoice names the Agency Licence. Both are written to be read, and the summary below is the same as the full text in your download.

Single Store Licence, in short

• One live store, identified by one myshopify.com domain.
• Unlimited development, staging and preview stores for that same shop.
• Install on as many themes of that store as you like.
• Edit the code, the copy and the design as much as you want. What you write stays yours.
• Your own employees, freelancers and agencies may install and maintain it for you, under your licence.
• Twelve months of updates from the date you buy, then you keep the last version you received for as long as you like.
• Support covers installation questions and bugs, by email within two working days.

What neither licence allows

• Reselling, sublicensing, renting or giving away the files, edited or not.
• Publishing them anywhere they can be downloaded, including public repositories and file sharing services.
• Including them in a theme, an app, a template, a page builder or a course you distribute, whether you charge for it or not.
• Using them on a store your licence does not cover.
• Using them, or the code in them, to build a product that competes with Sorted.
• Removing the licence comment at the top of a file.

Agency Licence, in short

Everything above, for up to ten live client stores, each with its own myshopify.com domain and each with unlimited development stores. The client keeps the right to keep using the files on their store permanently, even after your work together ends, with nothing further to buy from us. That right belongs to that store: it does not let the client install the files on a second store of their own or hand them to another agency.

The Agency Licence itself cannot be transferred, shared or sold on, and it is not listed on the site yet. Write to hello@sortedcommerce.com with the products you want and a line about the work you do, and we will quote and invoice you directly.

Moving a licence

If you sell your store or migrate to a new myshopify.com domain, tell us and we move the licence with you. Migrating is not a second store.

Free products

Free products carry the same licence and the same rules about redistribution and resale. They may not receive updates on a fixed schedule, and support for them covers installation questions.

Refunds

Within fourteen days, if the product cannot be made to work on your store and we cannot fix it with reasonable support, we refund you in full. After a successful install there is no refund. The full terms are on the refund policy page.

The legal text

The full text of both licences ships in the docs folder of every download, as the files named LICENSE single store and LICENSE agency. That text is the agreement, and this page is a plain reading of it. If you do not have a copy, ask and we will send the version that applies to your invoice.
